Press and commentary
I am interested in talking with reporters about how platforms decide what circulates, how creators make a living under those conditions, and what generative AI is changing about both. Turkey is where most of my fieldwork sits, though I am glad to speak to the Global South more broadly, to the United States, and to the comparative picture across them.
Research collaboration
My methods are qualitative: long interviews, digital ethnography, and close analysis of how the industry talks about itself. If your project touches creator labor, platform regulation, gender and visibility online, or synthetic media, I would be glad to hear about it. I am especially drawn to work that travels beyond the academy, into policy, industry, or public conversation.
Speaking
Lectures, seminars, panels, and workshops, for university audiences and non-academic ones alike. I organize workshops of my own and enjoy building them with other people.
